Mama-hood and The Power of Intentions
Hey there, supermoms! Grab your cup of chai (or coffee if you’re like me and can’t function without it), let’s dive into some spiritual real-talk. Today, we’re venturing into the power of intentions. Yup, you read it right! We’re talking about “niyyah” and its role in our lives, especially as busy Muslim mothers.
The Mercy of Being Rewarded For Mere Intentions
Now, as moms, we’re all too familiar with the concept of intentions. After all, didn’t we intend to have a peaceful bath, only to be interrupted by our child’s ‘urgent’ need to discuss why carrots can’t be blue? And remember when we intended to keep the house clean, only to find ourselves in the middle of a toy hurricane five minutes later? Well, guess what? Even in these scenarios, it’s our intentions that count!
Our Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Indeed actions are according to their intentions and every person will have what he intended.” Basically, it’s like saying, you get what you put in…or rather, what you intend to put in.
Turning Mom Tasks into Ibadah
But let’s be honest, it’s not all giggles and gurgles, is it? There are days when our intentions might not be purely for the sake of Allaah. Maybe we’re fasting for that post-Ramadan waistline or giving charity for community recognition? Well, here’s the reality check: Allah has said, “Whoever does a deed for someone else’s sake as well as for My sake will have the deed left to the one he associated with Me.”
Embracing the Trials
So, ladies, let’s embrace these trials (yes, even when they involve stepping on rogue Lego pieces barefooted). After all, we’re not just moms. We’re Muslim moms. And every tantrum navigated, every boo-boo kissed, every midnight snack made, becomes an act of worship when done with the right intention.
The Takeaway: It’s All About Intention!
So, what’s the takeaway, mamas? Intention, intention, intention! It’s the secret ingredient to turning our mama-chores into meaningful, rewarding acts. The power of intentions ensures that no act of love, no matter how small, goes unnoticed. And as Muslim moms, it’s our secret weapon for turning motherhood’s chaos into a spiritual growth journey.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, my intention to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee whilst writing this blog post has been interrupted by my little one’s ‘urgent’ need to show me pictures of fluffy bunnies. And you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Found this helpful? Maybe, just maybe, chuckled a bit at our shared mama-dramas? Well, then, why not share this with a friend?
We all know that mom-friend who could use a pick-me-up, or that new mama who’s just getting the hang of things (Remember those days? Phew!). Here’s your chance to spread some love and laughter their way. Click on that ‘Share’ button below!
Because, after all, being a mom is a wild ride, but it’s a whole lot easier (and funnier) when we’re all in it together. So go on, share this post, invite your friends, and let’s grow this tribe of fun-loving, chai-drinking, intention-setting Muslim mamas.
Stay deen-focused and keep those intentions high, supermoms! Until next time,
Assalaamu alaykum warahmatul lahi wabarakaatuh!
